July 24, 2025
The 2025 Road Program consists of repairs and replacements of curb and gutter, sidewalk and asphalt pavements, along with repairs to the Village’s sanitary, storm, and water systems in the following neighborhoods:
- Ridgeview
- Coldwater Creek 1-5
- Braddock Place
- Woodside Road (Closed for utility, removals, concrete and paving work with posted detour)
- Pine Ridge
- Woodside Ridge (limited repairs)
- Majestic Heights
- Richmond Road (To be closed for paving in early August with posted detour)
There will be no work in Maple Avenue, Plainview Road, or Good Hope Road surrounding the neighborhoods.
The Contractor plans to finish the project in early October 2025.
The subdivision streets will remain open during most of the construction work, but drivers should be prepared for lane closures and delays and watch for construction equipment and workers. Drivers are asked to choose alternate routes to avoid driving through the active construction zones whenever possible.
When lawn restoration has been completed, the contractors are required to water the newly seeded areas weekly. However, as homeowners, you can help by watering those areas more frequently to get the best results for your yard.
Pavement markings will be replaced when all of the paving in the road program area is complete.
Woodside Road & Water Tower Court
Woodside Road is currently “closed to through traffic" and a detour is posted. We ask that drivers follow the detour or take alternate routes to get to and from their homes to allow the contractors to complete their work quickly and safely. Access to the school and to homes with driveways on Woodside Road will be maintained, except while work is happening immediately in front of those driveways.
Paving/resurfacing is scheduled for July 29 and 30, weather permitting. See Updated Paving Map for Schedule. Please note the change in paving, as the plan for HOW the road is paved has changed.
- Tuesday, July 29: Northbound Lane of Woodside Road (East Half of Woodside Road from Good Hope Road to Plainview Road) and Water Tower Court, weather permitting.
- Wednesday, July 30: Southbound Lane of Woodside Road (West Half of Woodside Road from Good Hope Road to Plainview Road), weather permitting.
- Thursday, July 31: Gravel Shoulders along Woodside Road from Good Hope Road to Plainview Road.
Access to Woodside Road from the adjacent subdivisions will not be allowed on the paving days.
On paving days, we ask that you have your vehicles parked in an area outside of the work zone by 6 a.m. on your paving day. We should have you back in your driveway by 7 p.m. that evening. The first step of the paving day process is to spray a tack coat on the road. We ask that you not drive, walk or allow your pets to walk on the tack coated areas--this sticky glue is not easy to remove from your car, shoes, driveways or carpets and is not good for your pets’ paws.
Ridgeview, Majestic Heights, Coldwater Creek, Braddock Place, Pine Ridge, and Woodside Ridge Subdivisions
The work in these subdivisions is essentially complete. We are aware of a few areas where restoration was missed and have shared those locations with our contractors. We are also aware of a few traffic control devices that have yet to be collected and have passed that along to our contractors as well. In the coming weeks, contractors will be performing miscellaneous punch list work items, as needed, throughout these subdivisions.
Richmond Road
Improvements to the Village-owned portion of Richmond Road will occur in early August 2025. There will be a road closure to do the necessary work along Richmond Road with a posted detour. The road closure is planned to start on Monday, August 4, 2025, and it will last approximately three weeks.
During the road closure, residents who live off of Richmond Road should enter/exit on Richmond Road from/to the west. The westerly portion of Richmond Road will receive base patching and surface paving overlay from the western Sussex boundary to the area east of the eastern Crescent Hill Drive entrance. The easterly portion will have full pavement replacement (remove all existing pavement, binder paving-lower layer, and surface paving-upper layer) from the area east of the eastern Crescent Hill Drive entrance towards the right of way for STH 164. The base patching and milling dates are planned for August 6, 2025. The anticipated paving dates are planned for August 12 and 13, 2025. See Paving Map for Schedule.
On the proposed surface paving day, we ask that you have your vehicles parked in an area outside of the work zone (and outside of the Redford Hills Subdivision) by 6 a.m. We should have you back in your driveway by 7 p.m. that evening. One suggestion is to park your vehicle along Business Drive and utilize the connecting asphalt path to the Redford Hills Subdivision. The first step of the surface paving day process is to spray a tack coat on the road. We ask that you not drive, walk or allow your pets to walk on the tack coated areas--this sticky glue is not easy to remove from your car, shoes, driveways or carpets and is not good for your pets’ paws.
