The proposed Corky Curtis Trail project will be constructed in 2026. This section of trail is located along Sussex Creek and will connect Silver Spring Drive to Clover Drive.

The trail project construction will consist of clearing and grubbing, tree removals, earthwork grading, concrete footings and retaining wall, asphalt pavement, a new trail bridge across Sussex Creek, and final restoration.

Traffic control devices will be installed along Silver Spring Drive for the construction work, including shoulder and sidewalk closures. Silver Spring Drive will remain open to two-way traffic, but drivers should be prepared for delays and watch for construction equipment and workers.

The contractor will set up traffic control and start to cut and remove trees for the project during the week of March 16, 2026. The tree cutting and removals should take approximately one week. The grading operations for the project will occur at a later date.

This project is part of the DNR Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program Acquisition and Development of Local Parks. The contractor plans to finish the trail project in September 2026.
