The Civic Center Ice Rink is open for the season, weather permitting.
- Ice rink status updates are posted on social media and our website.
- Skating hours are 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Restrooms are available 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. seven days per week.
- The rink is always open skate; there are no designated times for specific skating activities.
- Bring your own skates.
- Please do not use the rink when it is closed.

- Summer 2026 Seasonal Parks & Rec Staff: We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic staff to lead exciting activities for our campers ages 6–12, and to help keep our parks beautiful. - Full-time Firefighter/Paramedic: Our Fire Department provides the highest level of Advanced Life Support (ALS) Paramedics and fully certified firefighters. The full-time Firefighter/Paramedic shifts are 48 hours on and 96 hours off. The Village offers a competitive wage and benefits package, including insurance (health, dental, and vision), paid vacation and sick time, and participates in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS). - Part-time Firefighter/Paramedic or Firefighter/EMT: These positions are part-time paid on premise. Shifts are 12 hours (06:00-18:00 and 18:00-06:00) and there is a weekend/holiday commitment. Part-time positions are limited to two (2) 12-hour shifts per week (24 hours total). Learn more!

- Tennis Instructor: Assist with the planning, organization, and implementation of weekly tennis activities. Applicants must be 14 years or older with tennis knowledge and experience. Learn More!
- Tennis Coordinator: Plan, organize, and run fun and engaging tennis programs for the Village of Sussex. Must be 18 or older with thorough knowledge and experience in tennis (playing or coaching). Learn more!
- Group Fitness Instructor: Lead participants though safe and effective fitness classes in a variety of formats including yoga, strength training, and cardiovascular exercise. Instructors should be certified in the format they are teaching. Candidates must be able to instruct multiple fitness levels and ensure the safety of all patrons in the class. Learn More!
- Tumbling Instructor: Lead our Grown Up + Me (parent/child) and Introduction to Tumbling classes for ages 2–5. Experience in gymnastics/tumbling is desired. Learn More!
On-Demand Water Softener Rebate Program
Would you like to reduce the amount of salt being used on your water softener? It may be time to replace your old timer-based regeneration water softener and receive a $200 rebate! The Village of Sussex Sewer Utility is offering this rebate for the replacement of an existing timer-based regeneration softener with a new on-demand regeneration water softener.
Do you already have an on-demand regeneration water softener? Is it working as efficiently as it is designed? We are also offering a $75 rebate for you to have a professional check the softener setpoints and adjust as needed.

Blanket Drive: January 12-February 16
Join us in keeping our community warm! The Sussex Fire Department, in partnership AFL-CIO Community Services, is hosting its annual Blanket Drive through February 16. You can donate new blankets at the Sussex Public Safety Building (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). Monetary donations are also appreciated!

Adopt a Fire Hydrant
After a snow event, fire hydrants covered in snow can be difficult to locate, and uncovering them wastes valuable time. Help your fire department by developing a plan with neighbors to clear a 3-foot perimeter around hydrants for firefighters to work, removing snow and ice.
When: Saturday, March 28
Where: The Grove at Village Park
Join us, along with the Sussex Fire Department for our FUN spring event that features an egg drop and visit from the Bunny. Pre-registration for each child is required for the Egg Drop. Register NOW as this event is likely to fill in advance.
