GOT SNOW? Well, we sure did and under that snow there are some leaves.

The Public Works Crew was able to make it around the entire Village for the first pass of leaf collection which got about 80% of the leaves. They were also able to make a second pass on the major roadways getting another 5% or so just before Thanksgiving.

On Friday, the crew was able to make larger piles of the second round of leaves in many areas of the Village so we could avoid plowing them with the snow. The Public Works Crew will be picking those piles up this week, taking care of another 10% or so of leaves.

The remaining 5% of leaves are under the snow, plowed with the big winter storm, and unfortunately, we’ll likely have to “leave” these buried leaves to spring.

The good news is Public Works will get those leaves, too! Sussex will have a spring clean-up to allow the Crew to get rid of the remaining leaves as the snow melts. There will be more information about the spring clean-up next year, but until then, we hope you enjoy your holiday season!
