The Village of Sussex is seeking a creative, strategic, and community-minded professional to serve as our Communications and Engagement Coordinator. This full-time position plays a key role in shaping how we connect with residents, businesses, and stakeholders through digital media, storytelling, and public engagement.
We’re looking for someone who can think strategically, write clearly, design creatively, and build meaningful connections that strengthen trust and transparency within our growing community.
What You'll Do
- Lead and implement the Village’s communication and media engagement strategies
- Develop engaging content for social media, newsletters, website updates, and community outreach campaigns
- Design newsletters, recreation guides, graphics, and other visual materials
- Oversee website content and explore opportunities for improved design and user experience
- Support public events and outreach efforts through promotion, logistics, and communication materials

Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications for this position include a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or a related field; at least three years of experience in communications, engagement, public affairs, or marketing (internship and volunteer experience may be considered) preferred; and a valid driver’s license.
Pay & Benefits:
The starting salary is $55,250, with actual salary dependent on experience and qualifications.
